Huwaei might have another budget hit & it’s Huwaei P30 lite, the lower range siblings of flagship P30 & P30 pro. As the name suggests, the P30 Lite discards several key features from the higher-end P30 phones but aims to retain the spirit of the P30 series. It was launched in China last March. Here’s our full take of this premium-but-affordable device. So, should you buy The P30 Lite? Let’s see…

Design and display

The Huawei P30 Lite has a 6.15-inch IPS LCD display with a great screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,312 pixels and a sharp density of 415 PPI. Tiny water-drop notch provides an irresistible viewing experience over the bezel-less screen. It’s got a curved 3D glass on the back & a fingerprint sensor on the rear. the IPS LCD panel performs well above when comparing with most phones in this price mark but might not be as good as QHD displays on higher-tier smartphones or the AMOLED screens Samsung is now offering on its budget Galaxy A range.

Performance & Battery life

This device has Huawei’s own 12nm Kirin 710 processor like the Honor 10 Lite and Honor 8x. The phone will be able to keep up with average day to day use while heavy usage with demanding games isn’t lag free. It is coupled with a Mali-G51 GPU. It has an easy going 4 GB or 6GB variants of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 512GB through the microSD card slot. The EMUI 9 flavored Android 9 Pie comes preinstalled on the P30 Lite.
P30 Lite has a 3,340mAh battery capacity which takes about 2 hours to get fully charged at 100%. It supports 18W fast charging.

OS

The P30 Lite has EMUI 9.0.1, based on Android 9.0 Pie, as its operating system.

Camera

A 24MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera have given P30 lite a triple rear camera setup. The quality and detail of the photos come out quite impressive with the main 24MP shooter. The depth sensor is for the bokeh effects. Details are quite sharp with the ultra wide sensor.
The front snapper is the main highlight of the P30 lite camera section. This device has a 32 MP selfie shooter which is worth mentioning. It can capture a good amount of details with or without the AI beauty mode. Post-processing of the photos is time-consuming though.

Huawei P30 Lite Price

The Huawei P30 Lite will be available for AED 1,099 (roughly $300, £230, AU$415), the most affordable in the P30 series.
